Delaware Summer Education Programs
Delaware College of Art and Design Young Artists Summer Program – Wilmington, Delaware
The DCAD summer pre-college program is designed to help students enhance their artistic skills while also getting sense of what life is like at a college that specializes in art. Students have the opportunity to work with faculty members and professionals in the field of art. Students also have the chance to engage in active studio learning, develop pieces for a portfolio, and receive useful feedback on their projects. Additionally, students have the option of staying as a resident on the campus to preview being in a college environment.
Participants: Rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Delaware Community College Kids Summer Camps – Delaware and Chester Counties
DCC offers summer camps for kids that enable them to extend their learning beyond the school year. There are a variety of summer camps that are offered each year. The summer camps are intended to help students explore topics of interest, collaborate with peers, and have a productive experiences. Students can sign up early to be notified about upcoming summer camps.
Participants: Students of different ages depending on the specific summer camp
Delaware State University Summer STEM Camp – Dover, Delaware
The STEM Summer Camp focuses on food biotechnology and is know as the DSU Food Biotechnology Camp. The summer camp enables students to gain experience and knowledge about the field of food science. Participants learn about research in the area of food science and have a chance to be involved experiential-based lab activities. Through the summer camp, students explore research techniques in order to gain insight into topics that relate to food science and biotechnology. Students also have a chance to gain experience on a college campus.
Participants: High school students and rising eighth graders.
Delaware Technical Community College Summer Camps – Stanton/Wilmington, Delaware
DCC offers summer enrichment camps for students. The summer camps enable students to expand their learning and to explore topics of interest. During previous summers, the programs have included topics such as gaining experience on a college campus, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), athletics, career exploration, and more.
Participants: Students of different ages depending on the specific summer camp.
